Maybe not the most subtle quote but it is accurate.
Oftentimes, our teens allow their anxiety to get the best of them and what is a small setback, seems like the end of the world to them. They panic, get stressed and struggle to focus on what they really need to do tho solve the problem.
It is important to help them become aware of when they go to this negative space and instead of allowing the panic and stress to kick in, teach them to strategize ways to solve the problem they are encountering.
Almost every problem or challenge they encounter has a viable solution, but it is hard to focus on the solution when they are so caught up in the negative that surrounds the challenge or problem.
Helping them take a deep breathe, step back and revisit the scenario will allow them to see a path to success. Mindset is everything and if you can teach them to see the challenge as a learning opportunity and not a failure, they will develop the proper mindset to manage these challenges or problems when they arise in the future.
