Not everything deserves a front-row seat in your mind.
Someone’s bad mood doesn’t automatically mean you did something wrong. An unanswered text isn’t proof that you’re being ignored. A criticism isn’t a verdict on your value.
And here’s something else to remember:
When people are upset, stressed, frustrated, or annoyed, most of the time they’re thinking about their problem, not you. We tend to make everything about ourselves, but the reality is most people are too busy dealing with their own stuff to be focused on us.
Don’t let your brain create a story that isn’t there.
Sometimes people are carrying things you can’t see. Sometimes they’re overwhelmed. Sometimes they’re having a bad day. And sometimes, it has absolutely nothing to do with you.
Before you assume the worst, pause and ask yourself:
“Am I reacting to facts, or to the story I’m telling myself?”
Your worth is not determined by someone else’s mood, reaction, silence, or opinion.
Protect your peace. Stop assuming. Give people grace. And remember who you are.
