This quote is spot-on and very true.
We all tend to make excuses at times. Teens especially so, as they are trying to navigate life’s challenges and maintain their sense of security and persona.
It’s like this sneaky voice in their heads that says, “I can’t do it because…” It’s normal to feel unsure or hesitant sometimes. Yet, that goal they want to achieve or that passion they want to pursue, if it’s truly important to them, they have the power to make it happen! The excuse is just a mask for the fear of failure that they may be struggling with.
There are often challenges, but they’re not roadblocks—they’re just part of the journey. Instead of letting excuses control outcomes, it’s important to reflect, search, and find a path to ensure things work out. Avoidance only leads to disappointment and a weaker sense of self.
Teach them to embrace the grit, and push past those doubts, and they will almost always surprise themselves with what they are capable of!
