GETTING PUSHED DOWN

August 14, 2023 by Keith Senzer

For teens, life can sometimes feel like a rollercoaster, full of ups and downs. There are moments when they might feel like they are being pushed down, whether it’s by challenges, setbacks, or even the expectations of others. It’s completely natural to feel frustrated during these times, as it can be tough to navigate through the obstacles that come their way.

It’s important to remember that setbacks and difficulties are a part of everyone’s life journey, no matter their age. What truly matters is how they respond to these situations.

Getting back up after being pushed down is where their true personal strength shines through.

When they face adversity and find the courage to get back up, they demonstrate resilience and determination. It’s like telling the world, “I won’t let this defeat me.” Each time they rise again, they gain valuable experience and learn valuable lessons about themselves and the world around them. It’s in these moments that they discover just how strong and capable they are.

Empowerment comes from within; it’s that sense of inner strength that propels them forward. It’s acknowledging that even though life may throw challenges their way, they have the power to overcome them. This realization fosters a positive and proactive mindset, helping them face future hurdles with confidence and self-assurance.

It is also important to remember that they are not alone in facing difficulties as a teenager. Many of their peers experience similar struggles and frustrations. So, supporting each other and offering a helping hand when someone stumbles can create a powerful sense of community and connection.

It is vital to remember, it’s okay to ask for help or seek guidance from trusted adults or friends. Nobody expects them to have everything figured out, and seeking assistance is not a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of maturity and wisdom to recognize when they could benefit from the experience of others.

Ultimately, life is a journey of growth, and true personal strength is developed through facing challenges, overcoming them, and embracing the opportunities to rise again. So, remind them not to be disheartened by the pushdowns; instead, let them be the stepping stones to empower them and help them become the best version of themselves.
