Why are we always in such a hurry? We spend so much time chasing the next milestone that we forget to enjoy the one we’re living.
Stop worrying about where you “should” be.
Focus on where you are. You have more time than you think.
We’re so focused on reaching the top that we forget to look around. The journey has some of the best views you’ll ever experience. Don’t rush past them.
When I was younger, I wanted to be a child psychologist. However, with undiagnosed ADHD, school was a struggle, and well-meaning parents and teachers encouraged me to pursue hospitality instead.
So I did. I spent years building a career that looked nothing like the life I imagined.
Funny thing is, life has a way of taking you where you’re meant to go.
Today, I get to do what I always dreamed of, helping teens navigate life’s challenges.
Here’s what I realize now:
If I had gone straight from college into this work, I wouldn’t be the coach I am today.
Every detour, every challenge, every job, every success and setback gave me the perspective, resilience, and life experience I needed to truly connect with the people I serve.
We spend so much time chasing the summit that we forget to appreciate the climb. Looking back, it wasn’t the destination that shaped me, it was the journey.
So if your life doesn’t look the way you thought it would right now, don’t panic.
Your path isn’t behind schedule. It might just be preparing you for something even better than you imagined.
