Anxiety has a way of making things feel bigger than they really are.
A small problem suddenly feels overwhelming. You start second-guessing yourself, thinking about everything that could go wrong, or worrying about things that haven’t even happened.
Just because you think something doesn’t make it true.
The next time anxiety starts taking over, try this:
Pause: Take a few slow breaths and give yourself a moment.
Question: Ask yourself, “Am I reacting to what is actually happening, or what I’m afraid might happen?”
Shift: Instead of focusing on everything that could go wrong, ask yourself, “What’s one thing I can do right now to control my thoughts?
Anxiety isn’t something you can just turn off, and that’s okay.
The more you practice recognizing and challenging those anxious thoughts, the better you can get at managing them.
You don’t have to believe every thought that pops into your head.
