Another great lesson for our teens.
Circumstances happen in life. A bad grade, a fight with a friend, not making the sports team or getting the part. It is very easy for our teens to just be angry and upset and find others to blame for the circumstance they find themselves in.
This negative energy they create by blaming others and making excuses just puts more of a strain on their mental health and adds to their anxiety and negative feelings of self worth.
Help them understand that how they respond to the circumstance can truly be a defining moment and life lesson for them in resilience and having a growth mindset.
When they learn not to allow a circumstance to define them and see it as a lesson and an opportunity for growth, not only does it foster resilience but will support them in their own journey of self worth.
