Often our teens will hold back from engaging in a conversation for fear of how they sound or behave in ways that don’t support their core values because they want to feel included in a group.
At the time, it may feel good to be accepted into that group but the more they wear a mask to hide who they truly are, the farther away from their core values they will stray.
Teaching them to know what their core values are and embracing them is such an in important lesson. It will always make them feel good about who they are and attract the people that share those values. This is so good for their overall mental health.
Faking it is temporary, it may feel good in the moment but when they finalize realize the group they are a part of does not share those values it can be isolating and a drain on their mental health.
Teach them the power in removing the mask and let the world see who they truly are!
