I love this quote!
How many times do our teens fail at something and call themselves a loser because of their failure. They get so caught up in the fact they failed, that they don’t take the time to reflect and learn from it and refocus on trying again.
WE MUST FAIL TO SUCEED!
Success takes discipline, persistence, resilience and curiosity.
Teaching them to relentlessly go after a goal, be curious about ways of achieving it and exploring why they did not helps build resilience and confidence.
Just think about that video game they play where they can’t defeat the boss or make that play in a sport they enjoy. They will dig in, try it over and over, learn from past actions and adjust until they finally figure out how to defeat the boss or master that play.
No one is a loser, but if they give up on something because it is hard or they have failed at it before, they sure may feel like one.
